A Bit About Me
I'm a 26 year-old Graphic and Web Designer based in Cambridge, Ontario. I started building websites when I was 14 by teaching myself HTML, which eventually lead to creating my own web graphics, and eventually teaching myself the finer points of designing for print. This lead me to taking on a few small clients and projects here and there.
Knowing that design was what I wanted to pursue as a career, I went on to enroll in Conestoga College's Graphic Design program in Kitchener, Ontario. In one of the finest design programs in Ontario, my time at Conestoga gave me the knowledge and tools I needed to turn my hobby into a profession.
I graduated from Conestoga in 2008 and immediately entered the workforce with a small local marketing agency as a graphic designer and the company's sole web developer. I spent just over a year in this position before returning to my alma mater, Conestoga College, where I was hired on in two positions; first as a part-time instructor in their Corporate Training division, and second as a full-time web designer. As the web designer position was a one-year contract covering for a maternity leave, I no longer hold that position, though I continue to teach several Corporate Training courses.
I am currently available for hire and for commissioned projects. In the future, I plan to return to school to work towards my Bachelor of Education degree and eventually become a high school teacher.
